Welcome to the Innovation Toolkit!

You have purchased a certain number of profiles and have been provided with your Administrator Username and Password so that you can access the Administrator functions. Each profile is one use of the questionnaire by one person taking the test at one testing session in time. Thus a purchase of 100 profiles allows 100 uses of the test. This might be by 100 individuals in one test session, or 50 indiviudals in two test sessions (etc).

After logging in as the Administrator you can:

  1. Plan the questionnaire administration
  2. View Results
  3. Interpret results

Each of these options is discussed below. You need to have completed earlier options in order to successfully complete a later option. Thus you need to have completed Option 1 and 2 in order to be able to undertake Option 3.

1)       Planning the questionnaire administration

The innovation toolkit is designed to allow maximum flexibility by providing you, the administrator, with options to administer the questionnaire across different departments and at different times (each time is a 'session'). You can have any number of departments and test sessions.

In the preparation phase, you set up the innovation toolkit so that people from different departments get different usernames, and different sessions have different passwords. People taking the test from the same department in the same test session all access the questionnaire with the same username and passwords and thus individuals' profiles are effectively anonymous. You must provide people taking the questionnaire with a username (which represents their department) and password (which represents their test session). How you do this is now described.

Steps when administering the questionnaire

a)       Select the 'Add New Department Table'

Use this table to add all departments in your organization to which you wish to administer the innovation questionnaire.

If you wish to make it very simple, simply set up one department to represent your whole organization.

Remember that you will need to provide the test takers with the Username so be sure to record it.

b) Select 'Add Evaluation Session'

Set up the software for the different time periods (sessions) when you will be using the questionnaire. If you plan to use the innovation toolkit just once, you only need to set up one test session. If you plan to administer the toolkit, four times in one year in each quarter, then you would set up four test sessions. Give each time period an appropriate title and assign a password to each time period.

       Eg.       Spring2001

Remember that you will need to provide the test takers with the associated password so be sure to record it.

You can decide which of the 10 questionsets you wish to administer for each session. It is recommended to use all 10 questionsets.

Remember: Test takers must know their (department) Username and (test session) Password to gain access to the questionnaire.

If you later decide to change the set up, we also provide tables where you can remove departments and remove test sessions (see graphic below). If you wish to edit details then simply remove the department or test session and then set up again.

2)       View Results

Each test taker will get a feedback report detailing his/her individual scores. Only the administrator gets to see the full picture in terms of an integration of results of people within a department or between departments across test sessions. Select ‘Go directly to results section’ at the top of the administrator page or scroll down to the results section as seen below.

Steps:

a)       Select the Departments and Session titles that you want results for

b)       If you now press ‘View selected session results’ you will get results for each selected option separately

c)       If you also select ‘Average within departments’ you will get the average results for each department over the selected time periods

d)       If you further select ‘Average between departments’ you will get the average results for each time period for all selected departments over all selected time periods

Remember also that each individual will get their own instant feedback from their own scores so you do not need to give individual feedback.

3)       Interpreting results

Once you have selected your comparison method, results will be shown for each individual profile selected, averaged within departments or averaged between departments and across the selected test sessions.

High scores indicate high levels of innovation and low scores indicate a low level of innovation.

For ease of use, we show the scores as as percentages according to the following table:

Scale score Percent

0 0%
1 25%
2 50%
3 75%
4 100%
